US stock market opens mixed

Investors await former FBI director's testimony to Senate

NEW YORK (AA) - The U.S. stock market opened mixed on Thursday.

The Dow fell 3 points to begin trading at 21,170 points, and the S&P 500 lost less than a point to 2,432 points.

The Nasdaq, however, rose 7 points to start the day at 6,304 points.

Markets and investors are focused on former FBI Director James Comey's first public testimony to the Senate Intelligence Committee later on Thursday and its possible repercussions for the Trump administration.
