ISTANBUL (AA) - Major stock exchanges in the US opened Tuesday with gains.
The Dow Jones rose 128 points, or 0.33%, to 38,508 at 9.39 a.m. EDT (1439GMT). The S&P 500 added nine points, or 0.19%, to 4,952.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, increased 28 points, or 0.18%, to 15,626.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, lost 1.6% to 13.45, while the 10-year US Treasury yield fell 0.5% to 4.146%.
The dollar index was flat at 104.46, while the euro lost 0.1% to $1.0731 against the greenback.
Precious metals were mixed, with gold adding 0.23% to $2,030 per ounce but silver decreasing 0.1% to $22.34.
Oil prices were in positive territory, with global benchmark Brent crude rising 0.9% to $78.67 per barrel, and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude increasing 1% to $73.49 a barrel.
