ANKARA (AA) - Major indices in the US stock market opened with gains on Wednesday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 62 points, or 0.17%, to 35,771. The S&P 500 added 5 points, or 0.13%, to 4,692.
The Nasdaq was up just 3 points to 15,690.
Despite climbing above the critical 30 level twice last week, the VIX volatility index, known as the fear index, was flat at 22.05.
The dollar index was down 0.24% to 96.14, while the yield on 10-year US Treasury notes gained 1% to 1.496%.
Precious metals were down slightly, with gold losing 0.13% to $1,781 an ounce and silver falling 0.5% to $22.38.
Crude prices were down around 0.2%, with Brent crude trading at $75.35 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude at $71.82.
