NEW YORK (AA) – U.S. stock markets opened lower Tuesday ahead of Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen's testimony to Congress.
The Dow fell five points to 20,407 and the S&P 500 lost two points to 2,326.
The Nasdaq lost seven points to begin trading at 5,756.
Yellen will testify Tuesday before the Senate Banking Committee, and Wednesday before the House Financial Services Committee.
Although the Fed chair is not expected to comment much on the U.S. central bank's monetary policies, investors will try to get hints about the likelihood of the Fed raising rates next month.
