ISTANBUL (AA) - US stocks closed Tuesday on a higher note.
The Dow was up 204 points, or 0.62%, to finish at 33,141 and the S&P 500 rose 30 points, or 0.73%, to 4,247.
The Nasdaq added 121 points, or 0.93%, to 13,139.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, dove 7.5% to 18.84. The 10-year US Treasury yield fell 0.37% to 4.817%.
The dollar index increased 0.67% to 106.25 while the euro shed 0.7% to $1.0593 against the greenback.
Precious metals were mixed, with gold flat at $1,972 an ounce but silver losing 0.2% to $22.94.
Oil prices declined more than 2%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $87.91 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $83.57.
