ISTANBUL (AA) - US stock exchanges closed Wednesday on a higher note before Thanksgiving Day.
The Dow Jones was up 184 points, or 0.53%, to finish at 35,273 and the S&P 500 was up 18 points, or 0.41%, to 4,556.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq increased 65 points, or 0.46%, to 14,265.
The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq posted a rebound on Wednesday, after ending their five-day winning streak in the previous session.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, plummeted 3.7% to 12.85. The 10-year US Treasury yield fell 0.1% to 4.411%.
The dollar index added 0.3% to 103.90, while the euro shed 0.2% to $1.0887 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in negative territory, with gold losing 0.4% to $1,990 an ounce and silver decreasing 0.5% to $23.63.
Oil prices declined around 1.2%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $81.66 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude at $76.78.
