ISTANBUL (AA) - US stocks closed with gains Monday to end a four-day losing streak.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 43 points, or 0.13%, to finish the day at 34,006. The S&P 500 rose 17 points, or 0.4%, to 4,337.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, increased 59 points, or 0.45%, to end the session at 13,271.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, trimmed 1.7% to 16.90. The 10-year US Treasury yield rose 2% to 4.531%.
The dollar index was up 0.35% to 105.95, while the euro was flat at $1.0591 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in negative territory, with gold losing 0.5% to $1,916 per ounce and silver decreasing 1.8% to $23.12.
Oil prices were mostly unchanged, with global benchmark Brent crude at $91.95 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude at $89.88 at the time.
