ISTANBUL (AA) - US stock exchanges closed Monday higher with a rally in tech company's stocks.
The Dow Jones rose 26 points, or 0.07%, to finish the session at 35,307. The S&P 500 added 25 points, or 0.58%, to 4,489.
The Nasdaq jumped 143 points, or 1.05%, to end the first trading day of the week at 13,788.
Ride-hailing firm Uber saw its shares climb 2.6%, while chipmakers Nvidia and Intel rose 7.1% and 2.3%, respectively. Amazon and Meta added more than 1.5% apiece.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, shed 0.13% to 14.82. The 10-year US Treasury yield, meanwhile, added 0.84% to 4.202%.
The dollar index increased 0.3% to 103.15, while the euro trimmed 0.34% at $1.0907 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in negative territory, with gold declining 0.3% to $1,907 per ounce and silver falling 0.4% to $22.60.
Oil prices were down around 0.6%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $86.31 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $82.59.
