ISTANBUL (AA) - Major stock exchange in the US finished Monday almost flat.
The Dow fell 49 points, or 0.12%, to end the day at 40,539 and the S&P 500 added just four points, or 0.08%, to 5,463.
The Nasdaq rose only 12 points, or 0.07%, to close the session at 17,370.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the "fear index," rose 1.3% to 16.60. The 10-year US Treasury yield declined 0.06% to 4.176%.
The dollar index increased 0.25% to 104.58, while the euro lost 0.33% to $1.0821 against the greenback.
Precious metals were on decline, with gold falling 0.16% to $2,383 per ounce and silver decreasing 0.2% to $27.87.
Oil prices were down around 1.4%, with global benchmark Brent crude priced at $79.10 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $75.89.
