ISTANBUL (AA) - US stock exchanges were lower Thursday, breaking the rally from the previous sessions.
The Dow Jones was down 48 points, or 0.14%, to 34,946 at 10.24 a.m. EDT. The blue-chip index rose 1.43% on Tuesday and 0.47% the following day.
The S&P 500 decreased three points, or 0.1%, to 4,500, as the index recorded Tuesday its best daily performance since April by soaring 1.91% and adding another 0.16% on Wednesday.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, fell four points, or 0.1%, to 14,100 after the tech-heavy index jumped 2.37% on Tuesday and rose an additional 0.07% the day after.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 2% to 13.90. The 10-year US Treasury yield dove 2.2% to 4.436%.
The dollar index was down 0.26% to 104.13, while the euro rose 0.4% to $1.0890 against the greenback.
Precious metals were on the rise with gold adding 1.3% to $1,985 an ounce and silver increasing 2.3% to $23.99.
Oil prices lost more than 3% with global benchmark Brent crude at $78.69 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude at $74.14.
