ISTANBUL (AA) - Major stock exchanges in the US opened with gains on Friday.
The Dow Jones was up 171 points, or 0.51%, to 34,010 at 10.18 a.m. EDT, while the S&P 500 added 34 points, or 0.82%, to 4,352.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, increased 119 points, or 0.9%, to 13,413 at the time.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 3.4% to 15.12. The 10-year US Treasury yield lost 2.9% to 4.534%.
The dollar index decreased 0.8% to 104.31, while the euro gained 0.8% to $1.0709 against the greenback.
Precious metals were on the rise, with gold adding 0.4% to $1,994 an ounce and silver rising 1.9% to $23.19.
Oil prices decreased around 0.9%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $86.06 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $81.62.
