ISTANBUL (AA) - Major US stock market exchanges opened mixed Tuesday, with the Dow falling more than 100 points.
The blue-chip index was down 111 points, or 0.3%, to 33,875 at 10.10 a.m. local time in New York (1410GMT).
The S&P 500, on the other hand, rose four points, or 0.1%, to open flat at 4,155.
The Nasdaq gained 23 points, or 0.19%, to 12,180.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, rose 0.8% to 17.08. Meanwhile, the 10-year US Treasury yield fell 0.5% to 3.574%.
The dollar index lost 0.25% to 101.85, while the euro rose 0.35% to $1.0964 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in positive territory, with the price of gold adding 0.6% to $2,007 per ounce and silver up 0.7% to $25.22 an ounce.
Oil prices fell around 0.8%, with the price of global benchmark Brent crude at $84.03 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude sitting at $80.19.
