ISTANBUL (AA) - US stocks opened higher on Monday.
The Dow Jones was down 96 points, or 0.25%, to 38,336 at 9.46 a.m. EDT. The S&P 500 rose seven points, or 0.15%, to 5,107.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, increased 14 points, or 0.1%, to reach 15,942.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, rose 1% to 15.16. The 10-year US Treasury yield added lost 0.56% to 4.644%.
The dollar index decreased 0.06% to 105.87, while the euro increased 0.03% to $1.0696 against the greenback.
Precious metals were down, with gold trimming 0.3% to $2,331 per ounce and silver falling 0.3% to $27.15.
Oil prices were in the red, as global benchmark Brent crude falling 0.33% to $87.92 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude trimming 0.4% to $83.54.
