ISTANBUL (AA) - US stock exchanges opened higher on Thursday.
The Dow Jones rose 120 points, or 0.34%, to 35,011 at 9.59 a.m. EDT (1359GMT), while the S&P 500 added 13 points, or 0.3%, to 4,528.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, increased 60 points, or 0.43%, to 14,080.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 0.94% to 13.75, while the 10-year US Treasury yield declined 0.46% to 4.099%.
The dollar index was up 0.51% to 103.68 and the euro shed 0.68% to $1.0850 against the greenback.
Precious metals were mixed, with gold adding 0.05% to $1,943 per ounce but silver decreasing 0.01% to $24.60.
Oil prices were up more than 1%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $86.16 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $82.82.
