ISTANBUL (AA) - US stock opened mixed on Tuesday.
The Dow Jones was up 66 points, or 0.17%, to 38,858 at 9.59 a.m. EDT.
The S&P 500, on the other hand, fell seven points, or 0.15%, to 5,141. The Nasdaq was off 80 points, or 0.5%, to 16,021.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 0.9% to 14.20. The 10-year US Treasury yield decreased 0.56% to 4.316%.
The dollar index increased 0.5% to 103.93, while the euro shed 0.12% to $1.0857 against the greenback.
Precious metals were on decline, with gold falling 0.4% to $2,151 per ounce and silver decreasing 1% to $24.80.
Oil prices rose around 0.4%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $87.20 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude at $82.49.
Bitcoin, on the other hand, was down 6.8% to $62,750 and Ethereum lost 8.7% to $3,237.
The total value of the cryptocurrency market was down 6.2% to $2.38 trillion, according to data from CoinMarketCap, a digital asset price-tracking website.
