ISTANBUL (AA) - US stocks opened Tuesday with losses.
The Dow Jones was down 54 points, or 0.16%, to 33,379 at 9.53 a.m. EDT (1353GMT), while the S&P 500 was 12 points in the red, or 0.28%, to 4,276.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, decreased 46 points, or 0.35%, to 13,261.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, rose 3.4% to 18.22, while the 10-year US Treasury yield gained 0.4% to 4.705%.
The dollar index was up 0.13% to 107.04, and the euro added 0.1% to $1.0484 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in the green, with gold rising 0.1% to $1,928 per ounce and silver increasing 1.1% to $21.27.
Oil prices were up 0.1%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $90.72 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $89.02.
