ISTANBUL (AA) - Major stock exchanges in the US rallied at opening on Thursday.
The Dow Jones was up 276 points, or 0.83%, to 33,549 at 9.59 a.m. EDT, while the S&P 500 jumped 50 points, or 1.2%, to 4,287.
The Nasdaq, meanwhile, soared 165 points, or 1.26%, to 13,226 at the time.
The exchanges closed with gains on Wednesday after the Federal Reserve skipped a rate hike for the third time this year.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 4.3% to 16.15. The 10-year US Treasury yield lost 2.4% to 4.673%.
The dollar index lost 0.83% to 106.0, while the euro increased 0.7% to $1.0642 against the greenback.
Precious metals were mixed, with gold adding 0.1% to $1,984 an ounce but silver losing 0.5% to $22.83.
Oil prices increased around 1.3%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $85.73 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate at $81.59.
