ISTANBUL (AA) - The US trade deficit for goods decreased 7.3% to $84.3 billion in August, according to data released Friday.
The trade deficit -- the difference between imported and exported goods -- declined $6.6 billion from $90.9 billion in July, the Commerce Department’s Census Bureau said in a report.
The expectation was for the figure to come in at $91.2 billion.
Exports of goods in August were $168.9 billion, $3.6 billion more than exports in the month before, according to the report.
Last month, imports of goods were around $253.1 billion -- $3.1 billion less than July imports.
