ISTANBUL (AA) — The US trade deficit for goods jumped by 6.3% to $102.7 billion in July, according to data released Thursday.
The trade deficit for goods in July increased by $6.1 billion from $96.6 billion in June, said the Commerce Department’s Census Bureau.
The market expectation for the figure was to show deficit of $97.7 billion, while the June deficit was slightly revised down from $96.8 billion to $96.6 billion.
In July, exports of goods totaled $172.9 billion, nearly unchanged from June.
Imports of goods in July were approximately $275.6 billion, an increase of $6.1 billion from the previous month.
