ISTANBUL (AA) - The US trade deficit for goods rose1.3% to $85.8 billion in September, according to data released Thursday.
The trade deficit – the difference between imported and exported goods – rose $1.1 billion from $84.6 billion in August, the Commerce Department’s Census Bureau said in a report.
The expectation was for the figure to come in at $86.2 billion.
Exports of goods for September totaled $174 billion, $5 billion more than August exports, according to the report.
Last month, imports of goods were $259.8 billion, $6.1 billion more than imports in the previous month.
