ISLAMABAD (AA) - Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov has arrived on a two-day official visit to Pakistan to boost bilateral relations and trade.
Bakhtiyor Saidov was received by senior Pakistani officials, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement late Tuesday night.
During his stay in Islamabad, the top diplomat of Uzbekistan will hold a bilateral meeting with his Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar, and will also meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
"The visit of the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan is expected to provide fresh impetus to the friendly relations between the two countries," said the Foreign Ministry.
During his visit, it is also expected the two countries will sign agreements to promote ties in trade and the energy sector.
