BOGOTA (AA) - The Venezuelan government on Thursday condemned the European Commission president’s remarks on the country’s leader.
Venezuelan Foreign Ministry denounced the "hostile and nefarious remarks" by Jean-Claude Juncker in a written statement.
"Venezuela will not tolerate any action that seeks to harm the dignity of the Venezuelan people," it said.
The statement added the EU's "high bureaucratic authorities" should "rule out aggression and offense as a method of external relations."
Junker said a day earlier that President Nicolas Maduro should be taken before an international court.
His remarks came during a news conference in Brussels with Colombian President Ivan Duque and EU foreign policy chief Frederica Mogherini.
