ANKARA (AA) – Red Bull's Max Verstappen dominated Sunday's Hungarian Grand Prix as the team earned their record 12th successive win in a Formula 1 season.
Back-to-back champion Verstappen from the Netherlands saw the checkered flag first at Budapest's Hungaroring, finishing the 70-lap race in an hour, 38 minutes, and 8.634 seconds.
There was a huge gap against second-place Lando Norris as McLaren's British racer was 33.731 seconds behind Verstappen.
Verstappen's Mexican teammate Sergio Perez ended the Hungarian GP third to make the podium.
Red Bull are spending a perfect season as the team continues their 100% winning run.
Following their victory in Round 12, Red Bull beat previous record holder McLaren, as Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost achieved 11 consecutive wins in the 1988 campaign.
Verstappen had nine wins this season, and Perez was victorious twice.
In May, Formula 1 canceled the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the season’s sixth race, due to flooding in northern Italy.
The next race, Round 13, will be held in Belgium on July 30.
