ISTANBUL (AA) - Veteran Turkish footballer Selcuk Sahin confirmed his retirement on Monday.
"It is really hard to write this sentence, but as of today, I am putting an end to my professional career," he said on Instagram.
Sahin, who spent 12 years with Turkey's Fenerbahce, helped his team claim five Turkish Super Lig titles, two Turkish Cup trophies, and three Turkish Super Cups.
During his 22-year-long career, he also played for Istanbulspor, Hatayspor, Genclerbirligi, Goztepe, and Bursaspor as well as Switzerland's FC Wil.
The midfielder scored 33 goals and made 26 assists in 517 club appearances. He represented Turkey in 25 matches.
