ANKARA (AA) – An English daily in Vietnam suspended its print edition after one its staffers tested positive for coronavirus.
The staffer was diagnosed on Saturday, according to a statement Viet Nam News posted on its website.
“It is with great regret that we announce a temporary suspension to the print edition of our newspaper from Tuesday, March 31 until April 15,” the statement said.
“Many of those who have come into contact with her at our office will now have to stay isolated either at health centers or their homes,” it added. “It has thus become impossible for us to bring to you the print, hardcopy version of the nation’s premier English news daily.”
Vietnam has so far confirmed 194 cases of the virus.
More than 34,000 people have died of the virus globally, with an upwards of 723,000 cases confirmed worldwide, according to data compiled by the U.S.-based Johns Hopkins University.
The data shows the virus has spread to 177 countries.
Despite the rising number of cases, most people who get infected suffer only mild symptoms and make a recovery.
