Vinicius Junior extends his Real Madrid contract until 2027

Brazilian joined Spanish powerhouse in 2018

ISTANBUL (AA) - Brazilian footballer Vinicius Junior has extended his contract with Real Madrid until June 30, 2027, the Spanish powerhouse announced on Tuesday.

"Aged 23, Vini Jr. is already one of Real Madrid's most influential players of recent years," Real Madrid said in a statement. "He scored the goal that clinched the 14th European Cup in the final in Paris in 2022 and was awarded the Golden Ball at the 2022 Club World Cup in Morocco, which Real Madrid won, making it the eighth world trophy in our history."

Vini Jr joined Real Madrid in 2018 and scored 63 goals in his six seasons with the Spanish club.

The Brazilian winger helped the club win the 2022 UEFA Champions League title and the 2023 UEFA Super Cup.

He also has 24 international caps for Brazil.

The 23-year-old won the Socrates Award, which recognizes footballers who show great commitment to charity and social projects, at the 2023 Ballon d'Or awards ceremony in Paris on Monday.
