ISTANBUL (AA) - Local health authorities in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar recorded additional deaths from the coronavirus pandemic on Tuesday.
In a statement, the Saudi Health Ministry said it had registered 33 deaths and 672 virus cases as well as 1,092 recoveries.
The total number of cases in the kingdom rose to 326,930, including 4,338 deaths, and 305,022 recoveries.
In Kuwait, five people died from the virus while 829 people were infected and 718 others recovered, according to the Health Ministry which put the country’s count at 96,301, including 568 deaths, and 86,219 recoveries.
In Qatar, the Health Ministry recorded one fatality and 239 cases, in addition to the recovery of 213 patients.
The ministry stated that the total number of cases rose to 122,214, including 208 deaths, and 119,144 recoveries.
Since first being detected in Wuhan, China in December, COVID-19 has claimed almost 930,000 lives in 188 countries and regions.
Over 29.3 million cases have been reported worldwide, with recoveries exceeding 19.88 million, according to figures compiled by the US’ Johns Hopkins University.
