Wall Street closes at record high

Airlines post massive gains

NEW YORK (AA) - Wall Street closed Tuesday at record levels, helped by an increase in airline shares.

The Dow added 84 points to end the day at 22,641, finishing in positive territory for the fifth trading day in a row.

The S&P rose five points to 2,534, and the Nasdaq increased 15 points to 6,531. Both indexes posted gains for the sixth consecutive trading day and all three finished at their all-time highs.

American Airlines saw its shares rise 5.8 percent, while Southwest Airlines and Delta Air Lines gained 4.5 percent and 6.6 percent, respectively.
