NEW YORK (AA) – Wall Street ended lower Monday after substantial losses in the European stock market sparked a sell-off.
Germany's DAX index was down 2.19 percent, while the U.K.'s FTSE posted a 1.32 percent decrease and, France's CAC 40 saw a 1.80 percent decline.
The Dow Jones lost 165 points to 18,096 and the S&P 500 was down 18 points to 2,146. The Nasdaq fell 48 points to end the day at 5,257.
The market and investors are now focused on the presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump later Monday.
