NEW YORK (AA) – Wall Street closed lower Monday after declines of shares at major American investment banks.
Bank of America lost 2.8 percent, while Citigroup saw its shares decline 2.3 percent. Wells Fargo's stock price fell 2.1 percent.
The Dow was down 54 points at the final bell to finish the first trading day of the week at 19,097.
The S&P 500 lost 11 points to 2,201 and the Nasdaq fell 30 points to end the day at 5,368.
The Dow and the S&P ended their four-day winning streak.
