NEW YORK (AA) - Wall Street closed lower Thursday as the House of Representatives delayed a vote on a proposal to overhaul the country’s health care law.
The Dow fell four points to end the day at 20,656 and the S&P was down two points to 2,345.
The Nasdaq decreased three points to finish trading at 5,817.
Republican lawmakers in the House failed to hold a vote on the American Health Care Act to replace the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare after certain party members appear to oppose items contained in the bill.
Failure to hold the vote was viewed by investors as a loss of confidence in the administration of President Donald Trump.
Investors have focused more on the administration's tax reform measures that are expected to be introduced in the coming months But that new legislation, however, is under risk after voting on the health care bill was delayed, according to analysts.
