NEW YORK (AA) - Wall Street closed mixed Friday as losses in automakers' stocks were balanced with gains in tech companies.
The Dow lost 19 points to finish trading at 20,914 and the S&P shed three points to hit 2,378.
The Nasdaq gained less than a point to end the day at 5,901 before reaching a new all-time record level of 5,913 during trading hours.
Software giant Adobe saw its shares increase 3.8 percent, while automakers General Motors and Ford stock price declined 2 percent and 1.7 percent, respectively.
The Dow posted a 0.1 percent weekly gain. The S&P increased 0.2 percent and the Nasdaq rose 0.7 percent this week.
