NEW YORK (AA) – Wall Street closed mixed Thursday as tech stocks declined but oil prices continued to increase.
The Dow added 68 points to finish the day at 19,191 and reached an all-time high closing level.
The S&P, however, fell seven points to 2,191. And, the Nasdaq lost a massive 72 points, or almost 1.4 percent, to close the day at 5,251.
Computer technology giant Oracle saw its shares decrease by 3.7 percent, while automaker Tesla's stock price declined 4 percent.
Oil prices, on the other hand, continue to increase as investors find more confidence in OPEC's deal to trim its output to rid oversupply in the global market.
At the final bell, American benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) was trading at $50.88 a barrel with a 2.9 percent increase. International benchmark Brent crude was at $53.69 per barrel -- a 3.4 percent gain.
On Thursday, WTI rose as high as $51.79 a barrel to reach its highest level in a month. Brent crude climbed as much as $54.52 per barrel -- its highest level since July 2015.
