ANKARA (AA) – Washington Wizards' All-Star guard Bradley Beal sustained a wrist injury to be out of action for the rest of the 2021-22 NBA regular season.
"Injury update: Bradley Beal will undergo surgery to repair a torn scapholunate ligament of his left wrist and will miss the remainder of the regular season," the Wizards said on Twitter on Wednesday.
The 28-year-old is one of the main pillars at the Wizards, playing for the Eastern Conference franchise since 2012.
This season Beal played 40 games to average 23.2 points, 6.6 assists and 4.7 rebounds per match.
He appeared in three NBA All-Stars in 2018, 2019 and 2021.
