World committing biggest mistake by not treating all humans equally: Pakistani president on Gaza

Arif Alvi questions world’s silence on Israeli bloodshed in Gaza, urges UN to pursue goal of 'no wars in world'

ISLAMABAD (AA) – Questioning the world’s silence on Israeli bloodshed in Gaza, Pakistani President Arif Alvi on Friday said that the world is committing the biggest mistake by not treating all humans equally and urged the United Nations to pursue the goal of “no wars.”

Speaking at an event at the Presidency in the capital Islamabad, Alvi said thousands of people, including women and children, were brutally killed in Palestine and Kashmir but the powerful nations remained silent.

“The way the innocent children and people were being killed in Gaza would have a long-lasting impact on peace as it would be difficult for the sufferers to forget such brutalities,” the state-run Associated Press of Pakistan quoted the president as saying.

“Instead of promoting the narrative of civilized wars, the United Nations should pursue the goal of no wars in the world,” he said.

At least 17,487 Palestinians have been killed and around 46,480 others injured in relentless Israeli air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7 following a cross-border attack by Hamas.

The Israeli death toll from the Hamas attack stands at 1,200, according to official figures.
