World Cup: Japan snatch draw against Senegal

Japan, Senegal draw 2-2; Poland-Colombia showdown to be played Sunday evening

ANKARA (AA) - Japan and Senegal drew 2-2 in a World Cup Group H match held in Ekaterinburg on Sunday.

Japan snatched the 2-2 draw when midfielder Keisuke Honda scored the equalizer in the 78th minute.

Senegal had taken a second-half lead thanks to a goal in the 71st minute by 19-year-old defender Moussa Wague.

Senegal had taken an early lead in the 11th minute when forward Sadio Mane scored. Japanese midfielder Takashi Inui levelled the game in the 34th minute.

Both teams have four points in the Group H with Japan on top.

In the other match of this group, Poland will face Colombia in Kazan Sunday evening.

Poland and Colombia have yet to claim a point.
