ATHENS (AA) - Artificial intelligence is in the process of transforming the labor market, and in a few years, many jobs will be lost, American singer, songwriter and producer William James Adam Jr., also known as Will.i.am, said Wednesday during a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

The situation of disadvantaged communities can further worsen if access to new technologies is not improved, he warned.

Himanshu Gupta, the CEO and co-founder of Climate AI, a company that uses AI to help companies and countries adapt their food and water supply chains to climate change, highlighted that AI can be used efficiently in the agricultural sector to deal with the effects of the climate crisis.

Another participant, Axel Oster, a student, spoke about the effects of AI in the education sector.

He said the use of AI in the sector would be beneficial but should be regulated to prevent misuse and distraction from the learning process.

Alexandra Reeve Givens, the CEO of the Center for Democracy and Technology, warned that AI can be misused by authoritarian powers, especially in the surveillance field.

She added that the creation and distribution of deep fake content using AI is also worrying.
