ISTANBUL (AA) - Emma Raducanu, the world number 12, is out of the French Open second round after losing to Aliaksandra Sasnovich of Belarus on Wednesday.
Sasnovich, 28, advanced to the third round after beating Raducanu, 19, with the sets of 3-6, 6-1, and 6-1 at Court Suzanne Lenglen in the women's singles.
Last year in the US Open, Raducanu became the first British woman to clinch a Grand Slam singles title since Virginia Wade in 1977.
Germany's Angelique Kerber, who is currently ranked 17, defeated France's Elsa Jacquemot with a 2-0 score in the second round of the French Open.
In the men's singles, 10th seed Cameron Norrie eliminated Jason Kubler of Australia in straight sets to become the first British player to qualify for the third round.
