Young Palestinian succumbs to injuries from Israeli army gunfire in West Bank

Israeli forces also arrested 2 women, including Palestinian journalist in Palestinian territory

RAMALLAH, Palestine (AA) - A young Palestinian succumbed late Wednesday to his injuries sustained from Israeli army gunfire in Nablus, north of the occupied West Bank.

Mohammed Mahmoud Raja Eid, 19, succumbed to his wounds from occupation gunfire to the chest, Palestine's official news agency Wafa reported.

The young man was shot by the Israeli army on Monday during clashes, it added.

According to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the death toll in the West Bank from Israeli army gunfire since Oct. 7, 2023 has risen to 424, in addition to over 4,000 injuries.

The number of arrests during the same period has surpassed 7,450, according to a joint statement by the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority (governmental) and the Palestinian Prisoners Club (non-governmental) issued Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces raided the town of al-Tira in central Ramallah on Thursday and arrested two women, including Palestinian journalist Bushra al-Taweel, witnesses told Anadolu.

Taweel, the daughter of detained Hamas leader Jamal al-Taweel, has been previously arrested multiple times.

Witnesses further reported that Israeli forces "assaulted" al-Taweel before arresting her.

Israeli forces also raided the town of Tamoun near Tubas and arrested at least 13 Palestinians, according to local resources.

Additionally, resources reported that Israeli forces raided several neighborhoods in the city of Qalqilya and nearby villages and conducted arrests.

Tensions have been high across the West Bank since a fighting broke out in Gaza on Oct. 7 between Palestinian groups and Israel.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, 424 Palestinians have been killed and over 4,650 others injured in the West Bank since Oct. 7, 2023.
