ISTANBUL (AA) - YouTube decided to change its policies regarding certain videos featuring firearms to prevent access by underage users to potentially dangerous content.

The online video platform said in a statement that videos showing how to remove firearm safety devices, homemade guns, automatic weapons and certain accessories will be banned to users under 18.

The platform said that livestreams showing people holding, handling or transporting firearms, regardless of whether they are firing them, will be prohibited, noting that this definition does not include video game content.

It said that these changes will take effect on June 18 and called on content creators and users to pay attention to the points.
