NAIROBI, Kenya (AA) - The Botswana and Zambia ambassadors to Kenya are among four people admitted to a Kenyan hospital following a late Monday night road accident just outside of Nairobi.
Machakos Level Five Hospital confirmed the envoys suffered serious injuries when the car they were traveling in was involved in a head on collision late Monday and were taken for surgery at Machakos Level Five Hospital ICU. Two others from the embassies were injured. The drivers in the other vehicles were not injured.
Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua said, “Though now a bit stable, the diplomats’ situation is still classified as critical and we pray for their recovery.”
He added the Zambian ambassador had been transported to Nairobi. “We wish Zambian Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Brenda Mudenda and diplomat Kama Wasa a good recovery. They have been airlifted from Machakos for specialized treatment in Nairobi.”
