ISTANBUL (AA) - Ukraine’s president said Thursday that his country is preparing to convene a second Global Peace Summit in November, without specifying an exact date.

“The next peace summit will be held in November. The plan for Ukraine’s victory will be on the table at the summit. I don’t know the date; I think nobody knows today. But we will prepare everything to be ready by early November,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy told journalists at the Elysee Palace in Paris following talks with French President Emmanuel Macron.

He said a comprehensive plan would be ready by early November.

Noting that he conveyed details regarding his “victory plan” to Macron during their talks, Zelenskyy said he also provided his French counterpart with information on other initiatives, including the ongoing situation on the front line in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy said the situation on the front line in eastern Ukraine is “difficult” and that he and Macron also spoke about the provision of ammunition and permission to use some long-distance missiles against Russia.

He denied discussing the terms of a potential cease-fire in Ukraine’s war with Russia with Macron or any other allies of Kyiv.

Macron reiterated France's support for Ukraine in its ongoing conflict with Russia, describing his talks with Zelenskyy as an important moment to discuss “the coming weeks and months” as well as military and diplomatic efforts.

Representatives from 92 nations and eight international organizations attended the first Ukraine peace summit in Switzerland in June, which Russia did not participate in.

It ended with the adoption of a final statement, which was not signed by some countries including Brazil, India, South Africa and Saudi Arabia.

The communique covered three issues: Ukraine’s grain exports, the safety of nuclear power stations, and the return of war prisoners.

Ahead of his visit to Paris, Zelenskyy also held talks with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer in London, during which he provided him with details of Ukraine's "victory plan."

Later in the day, Zelenskyy arrived in Rome, where he will be meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
