Several injured in Tel Aviv by rocket barrage from Gaza

Woman, 30, sustained moderate injuries, 40-year-old woman suffered minor injuries, says Magen David Adom emergency service

JERUSALEM (AA) — Several Israelis were injured on Friday as missiles were launched from the Gaza Strip towards Tel Aviv, where sirens sounded.

"A 30-year-old woman sustained moderate injuries, and a 40-year-old woman suffered minor injuries," the Magen David Adom, Israel's emergency service, said on X.

"Magen David Adom teams are treating several individuals with minor injuries who were on their way to a protected area," it added.

The Israeli army said separately on X that alarm sirens had been sounded in Tel Aviv, while the sound of explosions resulting from attempts to intercept the missiles was heard in several cities, including Jerusalem.

At least nine rockets were intercepted, while the total number of incoming rockets has not been disclosed, Israeli broadcaster Channel 12 reported.

This marks the first time in three days that alarm sirens have sounded in Tel Aviv, according to Channel 13.

Later on Friday, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Palestinian resistance group Hamas based in the Gaza Strip, said on Telegram that its members had targeted Tel Aviv with missiles barrages in response to massacres of civilians by Israeli forces in the besieged enclave.

Israel has launched relentless air and ground attacks on the Gaza Strip — including hospitals, residences, and houses of worship — since a cross-border attack by the Palestinian resistance group Hamas on Oct. 7.

At least 11,078 Palestinians have been killed, including 4,506 children and 3,027 women. The Israeli death toll, meanwhile, is nearly 1,600, according to official figures.
