GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - Several people were killed in fresh Israeli airstrikes in the battered Gaza Strip on Wednesday, medical sources said.
An Israeli warplane hit a car in the Maghazi refugee camp in the central city of Deir al-Balah, killing at least three people, the sources said.
Several people were also killed and injured in a strike on a house in the same city, the sources said.
Another house was hit by Israeli warplanes in Gaza City, causing casualties, according to witnesses.
A number of Palestinians were also reported killed and injured when Israeli jets shelled a group of people trying to return to their homes in the Shejaiya neighborhood in Gaza City.
The Health Ministry has yet to issue an exact death toll from the attacks.
Flouting a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire, Israel has faced international condemnation amid its continued brutal offensive on Gaza since an Oct. 7, 2023 attack by the Palestinian group Hamas.
More than 37,900 Palestinians have since been killed, mostly women and children, and around 87,141 others injured, according to local health authorities.
Over eight months into the Israeli war, vast tracts of Gaza lie in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water, and medicine.
Israel stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice, whose latest ruling ordered it to immediately halt its military operation in Rafah, where over a million Palestinians had sought refuge from the war before it was invaded on May 6.
