Several killed in Israeli airstrike in Gaza Strip’s Khan Younis

GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - Dozens of people, including children, were killed and injured in an Israeli bombing that targeted a house on Friday in the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, the Palestine Red Crescent Society said.

“Al-Amal Hospital received numerous injuries and casualties as Israeli occupation aircraft bombed a house near Al-Amal Hospital and the Palestine Red Crescent Society headquarters in Khan Younis,” the humanitarian organization said on X.

It added that “the bombardment led to the shattering of glass and the breaking of doors and windows, in addition to extreme panic among 14,000 displaced people who are taking shelter inside Palestine Red Crescent Society facilities.”

The nongovernmental organization stressed that Al-Amal Hospital received “dozens of injuries and martyrs as a result of this targeting.”

Israel resumed its military offensive against the Gaza Strip on Dec. 1 after the end of a week-long humanitarian pause with Palestinian group Hamas.

At least 17,177 Palestinians have been killed and more than 46,000 others injured in relentless air and ground attacks on the enclave since Oct. 7 following a cross-border attack by Hamas.

The Israeli death toll in the Hamas attack stands at 1,200, according to official figures.
