GAZA CITY, Palestine (AA) - Several Palestinians were killed and injured on Saturday in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip.
Witnesses at the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip told Anadolu that Palestinians and medical teams "transferred a number of dead and wounded to Kamal Adwan Hospital in the town of Beit Lahia and Al Awda Hospital in Jabalia after an Israeli bombing that targeted a gathering of citizens near a school that houses displaced persons."
They said that continued Israeli airstrikes on the camp and its vicinity are posing challenges for medical teams in transporting both the deceased and the wounded.
Meanwhile, Al-Awda Hospital officials released a statement indicating that "20 individuals were admitted with injuries due to the occupation (forces’) targeting of Palestinians in the Jabalia camp.”
In the southern Gaza Strip, medical sources told Anadolu that at least six people were dead and five wounded were admitted to the Kuwait Hospital in the city of Rafah after a bombing by Israeli aircraft.
Witnesses told Anadolu that the Israeli army targeted a house in the city of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, killing a number of Palestinians and wounding several others.
Israel continued its brutal offensive on the Gaza Strip despite a UN Security Council resolution demanding an immediate cease-fire in the enclave.
Nearly 35,400 Palestinians have since been killed, the vast majority of whom have been women and children, and more than 79,300 others injured since last October following a Hamas attack.
More than seven months into the Israeli war, vast swathes of Gaza lay in ruins amid a crippling blockade of food, clean water and medicine.
Israel is accused of “genocide” at the International Court of Justice, which has ordered Tel Aviv to ensure its forces do not commit acts of genocide and take measures to guarantee that humanitarian assistance is provided to civilians in Gaza.
