MOSCOW (AA) - Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Tuesday that total exports from Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) countries reached about one fifth of global trade in 2024.
Opening the expanded meeting of SCO heads of states in Moscow, Mishustin said the bloc’s share of global gross domestic product has risen to one third and is expected to grow to 35% by the end of the year.
“Today, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization includes 10 member states, two observer states and 15 partners. The geography of our organization covers almost all of Eurasia. It is important to make maximum use of this combined potential to increase the well-being of citizens of our states,” he said.
Mishustin said SCO cooperation covers key sectors including innovation, artificial intelligence, space technologies, the platform economy and the climate agenda.
