Shooting leaves 2 dead in western Australia

ISTANBUL (AA) - Two people were killed and a third was hospitalized after a shooting in Western Australia's Perth suburbs.

Two individuals were found dead at the scene while another person was rushed to hospital under "priority conditions," ABC News reported, quoting authorities.

Police spokesman said emergency services responded to reports of gunfire at a home on Berkeley Crescent in Floreat. “The incident is contained and there are no ongoing threats to the public.”

Residents are reportedly in shock after the shooting. One said his daughter heard the shots and locked the doors until he returned home.

Suggesting that it is normally a close-knit community, one woman expressed her devastation and sadness over the incident: "Such a horrible thing to have happened."
