Decision taken during parliament session and will go into effect on Saturday for at least 10 days

BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) – The Slovenian government on Thursday decided to re-impose controls at land border gates with European Union (EU) member and Schengen countries Croatia and Hungary after recent events in Europe and the Middle East.
The decision was taken during a parliament session and will go into effect on Saturday for at least 10 days.
The period could, however, be extended if deemed necessary.
Earlier on Wednesday, Italy, another European Union member, announced that it would reinstate border controls with Slovenia for the same reason.
The German Interior Ministry informed the EU on Oct. 16 that temporary controls would be implemented at the borders of Poland, Czechia, and Switzerland.
