S&P, Nasdaq close higher to post longest winning streak in 2 years
Oil prices plummet more than 4%

ISTANBUL (AA) - The S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed with gains Tuesday, recording the longest winning streak in two years.
The S&P 500 added 12.40 points, or 0.28%, to finish the day at 4,378 and rose for the seventh day in a row.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq increased 121 points, or 0.9%, to end the session at 13,639 -- extending its gains to eight consecutive days.
Both indexes recorded their longest daily winning streak since November 2021.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average, meanwhile, rose 56 points, or 0.17%, to finish the day at 34,152.
The VIX volatility index, also known as the fear index, fell 0.54% to 14.81. The 10-year US Treasury yield lost 2.06% to 4.570%.
The dollar index added 0.31% to 105.54, while the euro shed 0.14% to $1.07 against the greenback.
Precious metals were in negative territory, with gold losing 0.46% to $1,969 an ounce and silver trimming 1.76% to $22.62.
Oil prices fell more than 4%, with global benchmark Brent crude at $81.72 per barrel and US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude at $77.42. Both benchmarks hit their lowest levels since July.
